Empi 3159-7 Steel Pedal Assembly Mount for Buggy, Sand Rail & Rock Crawler Cars - Off-Road Racing & Dune Adventure Accessory

The folded walls are only 0.094" thick; I was hoping for a beefier bracket.But worse (and I discovered this the HARD WAY via EMPI !), this bracket only accommodates a pedal assembly from "early" (i.e., ≤1965) Beetles. Mine is off of a 1967. "later" model Beetle pedal assemblies have pedals with stops (a tang on the bottom of the clutch pedal; the brake pedal has an ellipse form at the bottom) that interfere with the floor of the bracket! Therefore, it is impossible to slide them onto the spindle that mounts onto the right-hand wall. For later year Beetles (≥ 1966), this bracket will NOT work as designed !!Sadly, no vendor that sells this EMPI bracket (3159-7) bothers to mention this fitment constraint.That is the main reason I give it a single * ...
